Beware of the Multiple Stings! When a Wasp Stings it will give off a scent which alerts other Wasps so if you are ever stung by a Wasp, remain alert & remove yourself from the area fast. A technician of ours recently was stung on the bottom lip while undergoing a nest removal. He was unfortunate to receive a second sting to the same spot by a fellow wasp but lucky enough to ensure his mouth was closed so the attacking wasps could not enter to sting, which could be fatal.

One of the behavioural traits of European wasps is to hang around human society and one of their favourite foods is soft drink from cans. They LOVE it!

People have been killed by European wasps (actually bees too) through injesting a wasp from a soft drink can and being stung in the mouth.

We were away down in Hyams Beach and my son (5) cam screaming like crazy that he had been stung. Turns out there was a tiny little nest of black wasps just under a sheltered balcony railing. They were incredibly aggressive and I have to wait until they left and ran in and knocked it down. If they had of been any bigger it would have been too risky - they are nuts when it comes to guarding their nests.
