Termite Inspections
In Australia there is a strong need for a Pre Purchase Inspection and an annual Timber Pest Inspection because Timber Pests (particularly Termites, which are often referred to as White Ants) can cause costly damage to property if not detected.
Termites, or White Ants as they are often referred, feed on wood. So if your home contains wooden frames or structural elements, then home is at risk of a Termite Infestation and Termite Damage that could cost you thousands.
The Termite Inspection detects any Termite activity before the cost of damage to your structure is excessive. Our Termite Inspectors can advise you on Termite Prevention measures that can reduce the risk of Termite Infestation and Termite Damage, including a Termite Prevention DIY checklist.
Detecting Termite Damage through Inspection
Termite Damage often goes undetected for some time because termites eat from the inside out, so termite damage can be substantial by the time it is detected. It is therefore highly recommended to have and annual Termite Inspection on your property by a qualified timber pest technician.
Signs of Termite Infestation and Termite Damage:
> Wood that sounds hollow when tapped;
> Gaps or crumbling wooden beams;
> Termite mud tubes, which run above ground and are built by Termites as tunnels to move about without exposure.
DIY or Professional?
Most DIY methods for Termite Control are not effective or successful long term strategies.
When you consider the value of your property, scheduling an annual Termite Inspection by a qualified, licenced professional for your property is a sound investment.
Approximately half of all Pest Controllers are not properly licenced or fully insured for the work they carry out. Don’t just settle for the quickest turn-around or the cheapest price as you may not always be getting what you thought you were paying for.
1300 PEST CONTROL guarantees you peace of mind by only ensuring all Technicians are experienced, qualified, licenced and fully insured.
Our quality termite controllers will carry out a thorough inspection of your property, the foundations, the inner structural elements, fencing and all wood products in and around the house and provide you with advice on a tailored Termite Management System (TMS) that best suits your property.

Many customers ask us if there is a difference with a Pre Purchase inspection to an annual Termite Inspection.
Pre purchase inspections are carried out in accordance with the Australian Standard AS4349.3 and differs from a standard annual inspection as it also covers other timber pests such as borers & fungal decay. As with an annual termite inspection, a written report is submitted to all clients which covers any timber pest activity or damage. The report also highlights conditions found by the inspector which may make your property more inviting to termites as well as advice on treatments (and previous treatment evidence) & recommendations for reducing your risk of future invasion.
